I made these Empanadas for my Spanish class (for a cultural day) yesterday, and today they loved them! Like always I am going to share the recipe with you guys!!
Ingredients:
- 5-6 large baking apples
- 1/3c. brown sugar
- 1Tbs cinnamon
- 3Tbs granulated sugar
- 1 Tbs vanilla
- 3T. flour (Flour for dusting on pan)
- Egg wash (1 scrambled egg 1T. water)
- 2 cans of Honey Butter Grands biscuits (I used small biscuits and bought 40 small ones, 10 in each) (The 2 cans was just another option)
Directions:
- Cut and peel your apples
- Set crock pot on high and cook for 3 hours and 30 minutes
- Add the rest of the ingredients (not the egg wash and the biscuits) and let the mixture cook on warm for another hour
- Roll out biscuit dough and preheat oven to your biscuit settings
- Lay the mixture from the crock pot into the rolled out biscuits, and fold over
- Take a fork and press down the side that is open, and not creased side
- Sprinkle out flower, and lay them on the pan
- Let them cook, after chilled add the egg wash (optional)
- Enjoy!
